40′ Marine Trader Sedan For Sale $65,000.

1978, 40′ Marine Trader Sedan. Single Ford Lehman w/2300 hrs. 2001 Northern Lights 5KW genset with 750hrs. Galley up, 2 cabins forward, one head with shower. Open saloon floorplan aft of galley – make it fit your needs. This vessel is actively cruising the east coast, having made 6 trips up/down the ICW since 2003.

LOD: 39′8″, beam 13′7″, draft 4′6″. Full keel with protected prop and rudder. Orignal teak decks, all re-caulked in past 3 years. Hull and cabin was Awlgripped in 2002. Hull was sand blasted and barrier coated in 2006 with Interlux epoxy.

Galley: 4 burner Magic Chef propane stove/oven. Twin SS sink. Isotherm 12v cold plate fridge. Tons of counter space and storage. Hot/cold pressure water. Microwave oven. 120v 6 gal water heater, connected to main eng.

Navigation: All electronics are at lower station, but upper station is serviceable. Raymarine RL70CRC color plotter/radar, Benmar Autopilot, compass, Horizon VHF. Steering is original chain/sprocket/pipe.

Ground Tackle: 66# Bruce w/200′ BBB chain. 44# Delta w/200′ 5/16 PC chain, 40# Danforth w/150′ chain-rope. Lofrans Tigress windless. Salt water washdown system.

Elec: 1-GP27 main starting battery, 1-GP24 Genset starting battery, 6-Trojan 6volt GC batteries for house bank, all wired as one 12v batt (due for replacement this year), Heart Freedom 10 1000W inverter/50amp charger with Link 1000, additional Newmar 3 stage 40amp charger, single 30 amp shore power, Rutland 913 Wind generator, Balmar model 90 75amp alternator with MaxCharge 615 regulator. 4 LED deck/courtesy lights. LED anchor light with photocell switch.

In 2006, Lehman got new injectors, new heat exchangers, complete hose kit, and rebuilt the Velvet drive transmission & new damper plate installed. New PSS dripless shaft seal in 2003. New prop shaft in 2002. 4 blade prop tuned in 2008. In 2009, Lehman got new exhaust elbow and new fresh water circulating pump. Lehman and Gen get new impellers every year.

Other: Vacuflush head with 40g holding tank, pump out on deck or can empty holding tank overboard. All factory windows and hatches have been replaced with Lewmar aluminum ones.

Spares onbaord: 3 blade prop; complete prop shaft, 5oamp alternator, auto-pilot control head, injector lines, fresh water pump, many Lehman parts and generator parts (impellers, belts, hoses, fittings, etc),

The rest: a few soft spots on roof. Its all water tight now, but if you’re inclined, you will find some rotten plywood under the glass. The shower has some cracks in the fiberglass shell. The exterior teak is all bare except where the sun hasn’t cooked it off under the railing. The interior teak has lots of stains where the old windows leaked. The parkay floor in galley is due for refinish or replace. The boat is very serviceable, but needs someone who can see beyond the wear. The mast holds the radar and windmill, but I wouldn’t lift anything over about 100# with it.

You are welcome to have the boat surveyed, but expect a long list of recommendations. I am pretty firm on the price, so if you’re hoping to make a lowball offer, don’t bother. I am in Bahamas now, but will be back in states by late April, starting in St Augustine and moving north to Rhode Island by Memorial Day.
